nRansomware, Send nudes to unlock your device!

Most ransomware request money to unlock files, regularly in the form of bitcoins, but this is the first time to see a malware requiring nude photos in return to getting access to their machine back.

Called nRansomware, the ransomware was recognized by a security researcher MalwareHunterTeam who published the screenshot of the ransom notes asking users for their private photos. The notes also showed a short message explaining how a victim can forward their photos to the hackers behind this malware.

The ransomware note:

Your computer has been locked. You can only unlock it with the special unlock code, go to protonmail.com and create an account. Send an email to 1_kill_yourself_1@protonmail.com. We will not respond immediatly. After we reply, you must send at least 10 nude pictures of you. After that we will have to verify that the nudes belong to you. Once you are verified, we will give you your unlock code and sell your nudes on the deep web”
The troubling issue here that the attacker explicitly said that he/she/it/apache will sell your nudes on the deep web and that is a major privacy breach, your nudes could end up on a random person pc, that and this person can use those nudes to cyber bully the person or blackmail them.

Once the malware (nRansom.exe) is executed, it will display a stupid lock screen with a tiled Thomas & Friends background that asks for private pictures and then plays the your-mom-gay.mp3 MP3. In fact, this is not a ransomware and simply a locker. You just need to enter a code to unlock the screen

To terminate this locker, you can manually minimize the screen and just kill the nRansom.exe process.

Or  In case the blocker has somehow sneaked onto your PC, you can unblock the computer by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Shift + F4 simultaneously. It’s necessary to run a full scan of your system after that.

sure the prevention of this attack is easy same as it's removal but what about the people unaware of the quick fixes, they fell victims to this ransomware and now they got their private pictures up there in the deep web up for sale. And these people who are unaware of the fixes, updates or any computer related issues that uses their devices without precautions are the best targets for the attackers.
I recommend a good anti-malware/virus tool with an internet security program, downloading the latest security patches and surf the internet on ways to protect yourself on the web.

in 2017 it was the year of ransomware and attackers are getting smarter and more dangerous, actions should be taken to prevent all of these data loss.
